Terms of Use

These terms cover the College SuperHEROs app (iPhone, Android and huserve-dev.web.app), run by College Superheroes, a Howard University student mentoring program. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Who can use it
The app is for college volunteers and program staff. New accounts are approved by a program administrator before they can see sessions, chats or training. You're responsible for what happens on your account, so don't share it.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Anyone who posts it can have their messages removed and their account suspended or removed, without warning.
In the program chat and session chats, never post:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or anything encouraging someone to harm themselves
- Hate speech or slurs, or attacks on anyone's race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or background
- Sexual or pornographic content, or nudity
- Violent, graphic or illegal content
- Spam, scams or advertising
- Information about the children in the program (names, photos, schools, family details), or anyone else's private information
- Pretending to be someone else
The app filters some objectionable words automatically, but you're responsible for what you post.
Reporting and blocking
- Report: tap ⋯ next to any message, then Report. Reports go to program administrators.
- Block: tap ⋯ next to a message, then Block. You won't see that person's messages in any chat, and administrators are told so they can review it. You can unblock them from the Chats screen.
- Contact us: tap your initial in the top corner, then Contact / Report a problem, or email findyourspark@collegesuperheros.org.
Administrators review every report. When content breaks these terms, we remove it and suspend or remove the account that posted it.
Program conduct
Volunteers also follow the College Superheroes program rules shared during training, including showing up for sessions you claim. Cancelling less than 24 hours ahead or missing a session counts as a strike, and three strikes pause signups for two weeks.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time: tap your initial, then Delete account. We can suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or put the program's children at risk.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how it's used.
No warranty
The app is provided as is, by a volunteer program. We work to keep it running and accurate but can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
Changes
If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top and ask you to agree again in the app.
